The first step involves figuring out what you want in your life. Knowing your goal helps you to craft your message using SMART criteria.

SMART represents specific, meaningful, action-oriented, realistic, and timebound. So, forming your request with these criteria will make it more effective.

The second step is to form an action-oriented request which communicates exactly what another person needs to do. At last, give the person a definite timeline to process your request.

With the three steps method, you learn how to formulate your request. Now it’s time to identify the people in your circle or your friend circle to send your request.

Your friends and colleagues can help you to identify the right person for you because it’s not about “who knows what” but also about “ who knows whom.” Sometimes, the people you know introduce you to those who have the knowledge you need for assistance.
